The Institute is rewriting the role of traditional diplomacy because the current system of state-to-state diplomacy is no longer fit for purpose and excludes those most affected by decision-making.

In addition to state-to-state diplomacy as interactions between representatives of sovereign states, we have developed: 

people-to-international organisations diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy models that complements intergovernmental processes without replacing them. 

We are creating approaches where public diplomacy does not compete with traditional diplomatic and international law approaches – it complements and strengthens it.

The objectives of our activities fall into the following categories:

  • Engaging under-represented, under-served communities and minority groups in dialogue around key global issues through conferences and roundtable discussions (conference diplomacy),

  • Facilitating  meetings of experts from the above-mentioned groups for stakeholder consultations to debate ideas, exchange knowledge and forge connections,

  • Widening the engagement of diverse non-state stakeholders in international relations,

  • Encouraging the exchange of insights, reports and analysis on different aspects of global affairs.

भाषा नीति

जबकि अंग्रेजी केवल दुनिया की 7.1% आबादी की मूल भाषा है और 19% से कम भाषा बोल सकती है, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संबंधों में सभी वैज्ञानिक प्रकाशनों में से लगभग 80% अंग्रेजी में हैं। 

सार्वजनिक कूटनीति को सभी अभिनेताओं को समान प्रतिनिधित्व प्रदान करना चाहिए, चाहे वे कहीं भी रहते हों या कोई भी भाषा बोलते हों। दुर्भाग्य से, हमारी वर्तमान व्यवस्था इस वादे पर खरी नहीं उतरती। जैसे-जैसे हमारे संस्थानों की खामियों को नजरअंदाज करना असंभव हो गया है, अधिक वैज्ञानिक इस पर ध्यान दे रहे हैं और कार्रवाई कर रहे हैं।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय संबंधों में गैर-राज्य अभिनेताओं की सगाई को मजबूत करने के उद्देश्य से गैर-अंग्रेजी बोलने वालों और अन्य नवाचारों को शामिल करने जैसे सुधार दुनिया भर में फैल रहे हैं, और इंस्टीट्यूट डी डिप्लोमेटी पब्लिक जैसे संगठन अवसर के इस क्षण को पूरा करने के लिए स्थानीय समुदायों के साथ काम कर रहे हैं।

संस्थान एक गैर-लाभकारी संस्थान है जो गैर-अंग्रेजी भाषी समूहों के साथ सीधे काम करता है जो प्रभावी आयोजन, शिक्षा और वकालत की रणनीतियों का निर्माण करने के लिए सार्वजनिक कूटनीति को आगे बढ़ाता है और सिर्फ कार्यान्वयन सुनिश्चित करता है। 

भाषाई न्याय हमारे काम का एक मुख्य हिस्सा है।

हमारा मानना है कि जो लोग अंग्रेजी बोलने वाले नहीं हैं वे ज्ञान और प्रतिभा से भरे हुए हैं और उनके पास समाज और नीति में योगदान देने के लिए बहुत कुछ है। हम मानते हैं कि जो लोग अंग्रेजी नहीं बोलते हैं उनके पास साझा करने के लिए ज्ञान है।

संस्थान बिना किसी बाधा के समाज में पूरी तरह से भाग लेने के लिए अंग्रेजी के अलावा अन्य भाषा बोलने वाले लोगों के लिए रास्ते बनाता है।

संस्थान में, हम अपने सदस्यों और अन्य संगठनों को ऐसी सामग्री विकसित करने में सहायता करते हैं जो एक सांस्कृतिक संदर्भ में विभिन्न भाषा समुदायों के लिए ऐसी जगह बनाने के लिए समझ में आती है जहां लोग बिना किसी बाधा के अपनी भाषा में अंतरराष्ट्रीय संबंधों में पूरी तरह से भाग ले सकते हैं और वास्तव में भाग ले सकते हैं।

गैर-अंग्रेजी भाषी सदस्यों के जुड़ाव से हमारी परियोजनाओं का मूल्य, प्रभाव और पारदर्शिता बढ़ती है और संस्थान की जवाबदेही और समावेशिता बढ़ती है।
