DISASTER DIPLOMACY
Disaster diplomacy examines how and why disaster-related activities (disaster response and disaster risk reduction) do and do not lead to diplomatic endeavours.
There are signs that the twenty-first century will be an era with more man-made and natural disasters.
Institut de diplomatie publique acts as a space to test, model, and scale successful practices in disaster diplomacy providing its resources for thought and analysis to serve stakeholders who develop, implement, or teach all aspects of disaster and diplomacy.
Working with vulnerable groups is central to the Institute’s mission.
It is one of the key strategic priorities set out in our Annual Plan and is one of the principal focus areas.
We recognize, however, that we need to do more.
In particular, we need to improve our understanding of the different dimensions of vulnerability and to ensure that we are in a better position to help those who are at greatest risk.
